A restaurant in Crown Heights is serving up Caribbean-inspired cuisines.
Chef Rawlston Williams says he opened The Food Sermon after studying theology for nearly five years. He says his menu is inspired by his Caribbean roots.
"It is authentic, but not traditional," he says. "Most of what we do is based on necessity. We only do what is necessary here at the Food Sermon."
Williams says the customizable menu consists of four proteins and is then paired with a choice of rice, beans and sauce.
He says he found the location on Rogers Avenue after he was pulled over for a traffic violation.
