Tech fair displays exhibits and attractions in Greenpoint

BROOKLYN -

A festival in Greenpoint is celebrating technology and all things futuristic.

The first-ever Worlds Fair Nano kicked off Saturday, beginning a weekend of exhibits from futuristic food made from crickets to drones and virtual reality stations.

"The thing that we want to do is inspire people because when you get to encounter ideas and possibilities and the best of what humankind can do, you get inspired," says co-founder Michael Weiss.

One of the most popular attractions of the fair has been electric skateboards that accelerate up to 22 miles per hour.

Organizers say they hope to turn the fair into a full technology-based six-month worlds fair.
