BROOKLYN -

A donation collection for hurricane victims, organized by rapper Joey Badass, was held Saturday in downtown Brooklyn.

Volunteers collected boxes of donations for those affected by recent hurricanes worldwide at Brooklyn Borough Hall.

The rapper says it was just the right thing to do.

"This is simply important to me because there are human beings in need who need help and I have the power to help, so I'll do that. I'll use that power," he said.

Joey Badass says his initial goal was 40 boxes of donations. It ended up being three times as much.
