Women in real estate industry fix up Brownsville shelters

Posted: Updated:
BROWNSVILLE -

Two neighboring Brownsville shelters are receiving repairs at the hands of women in the real estate industry.

According to Women in Need, or Win, 70 percent of homeless New Yorkers are families with children.

That's why the nonprofit has teamed up with Rebuilding Together New York City for "She Builds Day" to improve the lives of more than 400 women and their families.

The women are also fixing up a children's playground and providing families with health and safety kits for their homes.
