The NYPD is planning to assign about a thousand new body cameras to officers in certain precincts around the city, and some Brooklyn residents now say they're worried about privacy.
People packed the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Clinton Hill Thursday night for a meeting on the issue. The NAACP helped lead the proceedings, with several police officers in attendance.
Police say the bodycams can potentially protect both officers and private citizens.
But many in attendance said they are concerned that the cameras give police too much control over who gets to see the footage and when.
The NYPD says it conducted exhaustive research and learned lessons from similar programs around the country.
