Residents in Park Slope say a women’s shelter has been causing issues in the neighborhood.
Residents say they have not had issues up until recently with the women living at the shelter on Eighth Avenue and 14th Street.
One woman says the residents at the shelter have called her son names and that others have seen the women smoking marijuana outside.
Neighbors say they do not want to eliminate the shelter or move the women out who are living there. The shelter’s operator, police and local neighborhood stakeholders met on Wednesday to discuss the residents’ concerns.
The shelter operator encourages neighbors with complaints to speak up about any issues.
