WILLIAMSBURG -

Cellphone video has been released that shows a man shouting racial slurs at L train passengers before being thrown off the car in Williamsburg.

The incident happened aboard the Bedford Avenue L train.

The video was posted to Facebook Saturday, but it is unclear if the incident occurred that day.

The video shows a passenger who appears to be drinking alcohol, use racial epithets toward passengers of color.

Several straphangers surround the man and attempt to de-escalate the situation, however, the man in question continues shouting racial slurs.

He is eventually thrown from the subway car at the next stop. Police say they received no formal complaint of the incident.

The man in the video claims to be a lawyer for NYU.
