Cheddar Morning Business Update 10/12: Southwest Airlines plans service to Hawaii

Posted: Updated:
  • Amazon is targeting teen shoppers. The retailer will now give 13 to 17-year-olds an independent login. They can browse items and make purchases but parents get a text or email first and they can approve or decline the items.
  • Virtual reality is becoming more of a reality. Facebook is lowering the price of its standalone VR headset "Oculus Go," It doesn't require a phone or computer to work. The headset is available in early 2018 and will cost $199.
  • If you're dreaming of a trip to Hawaii you'll soon have one more way to get there. Southwest Airlines plans to launch service to Hawaii next year.  Unlike most American airlines, Southwest still lets travelers bring bags on board for free and has a no fee model.
