BATH BEACH -

Brooklyn's 62nd Precinct has a new commanding officer.

Capt. Anthony Longobardi joined the NYPD in 1999, and is now top cop at the precinct located on Bath Avenue in Bath Beach.

About 185,000 people live under the precinct's coverage area.

While he's a Staten Island native, he's no stranger to the borough. Longobardi has done stints in East Flatbush, Bay Ridge and Coney Island, working with the Vice Squad and up through the ranks.

"I have been speaking to the community leaders, elected officials, and just driving through the neighborhood, meeting people on the streets, hearing some of the concerns and we are addressing them," said Longobardi.
