Police search for suspect in R train subway assault

BROOKLYN -

Police are asking for the public’s help in location a suspect in a subway assault.

Officials say the suspect on southbound R train reportedly steeped on a 30-year-old man's foot. When the victim complained the suspect proceeded to punch him in the face.

He then continued to beat the man.

The incident took place Friday around 4 p.m.

The victim was taken to Lutheran Hospital in critical but stable condition.

The suspect got off the train at Fourth Avenue and 36th Street station and then board a D train.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
