Although the water is off limits until May, people are still visiting Manhattan Beach -- but many say its current lack of restrooms is frustrating them.
"We need bathrooms -- it's unacceptable," says Andrew Feinstein, who visits the beach regularly.
He says that closures to the beach's bathrooms have had "disgusting" results. In one case, he says he saw human feces outside one of the closed restrooms. He says officials should install portable toilets while the regular ones are out of service.
Some are closed for construction. Others close seasonally due to the cold -- and angry beachgoers want to know why they're closed now when temperatures are still hovering in the 70s. The pipes won't freeze, they say.
The Parks Department says it will install a temporary toilet this week. Work on another bathroom should be complete around Thanksgiving, when it will reopen.
