Authorities ordered two Crown Heights buildings evacuated Thursday morning after a massive water main break at the corner of Pacific Street and Albany Avenue.
Pressurized water blasted several feet into the air and rained down on the surrounding street.
The blast was so powerful it knocked down a tree and shattered car windows. Among the victims is Lorna David, a traveling nurse who now says she can't drive to see her patients. Also affected is the Langlais family -- which lost three cars to damage from the 40-inch main break.
The flooding forced at least 50 people to leave their homes, but no one was hurt.
Crews sealed the leak by Thursday evening.
