Several schools across New York City that were previously without a piano are getting a chance to create music thanks to a nonprofit group.
Among those receiving a Sing for Hope piano is James Madison High School, through a partnership with the Department of Education.
James Madison High is one of 50 schools receiving a donation in the city.
Sing for Hope could have sent the pianos anywhere, but legendary musician and former student at the school Carole King asked for it to there.
In honor of King, the school decorated the piano to reflect the successful alum's accomplishments.
