Photos were released Monday of a man accused of robbing a person at knifepoint earlier this month in Hoboken.
Hoboken police said the man in the photos followed another man around 1:15 a.m. Nov. 3 and approached him in the area of 61 Sixth St. The suspect held a knife to the victim’s face and demanded he turn over what he had on his person, authorities said.
The suspect then attempted to forcefully take the victim’s backpack, but the victim was able to run away, police said. The suspect then fled the scene.
An investigation into the incident led detectives to the suspect at the Newport Mall area in Jersey City where he was last seen leaving several hours later.
The suspect was last seen on surveillance video wearing light blue jeans, Chuck Taylor Converse black and white sneakers, a Guess T-shirt and a dark colored jacket with a hood.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Det. Michael Miranda of the Hoboken Police Department’s Investigative Bureau at mirandam@hobokenpd.org or 201-420-2118. All information will be kept confidential, police said.
