Several LI parks to remain open during meteor shower

Several Long Island State Parks will remain open during the nighttime hours for viewing of the upcoming meteor shower.
Peak viewing times are 11 p.m. Friday until dawn on Saturday.
Officials say there will be no charge and the normal star gazing permit will not be required. However, viewers must remain near their vehicle.
State Parks that will remain open Friday for viewing at Jones Beach State Park - Field 6, Sunken Meadow State Park - Field 3 and Montauk Point State Park, upper parking lot.
