Billy Crystal film shoot in Long Beach prompts 911 call

A 911 caller reported that a car hit a building in Long Beach Monday, but it turned out the crash was no accident.
An indie film called "We Are Unsatisfied" starring Billy Crystal was shooting this morning on location in Long Beach. The shoot was staged at the Slices and Ices pizzeria on West Beech Street, and it involved a crashed Cadillac.
While police and neighbors were aware of the film shoot, someone passing by was not. The person dialed 911 to report the crash around 8 a.m.
Even though police knew the movie shoot involved the car, they responded to the scene anyway -- they had to make sure another car didn't crash into the building.
The film crew moved on to a second Long Beach location this afternoon. Scenes were shot at Gentle Brew Coffee Roaster on East Park Avenue, leaving customers out in the cold. But residents said they were happy to hear that Crystal and the film were shooting right in Long Beach.
"Hometown boy coming back to make the town famous," remarked one resident.
The crew tells News 12 that Crystal wasn't on set today, although his publicist confirms he's working on the film.
