Woman struck by car, critically injured in Long Beach

Police say a woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle in Long Beach Saturday night.
It happened just before 11 p.m. The 40-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was attempting to cross Austin Boulevard when she was struck by a Toyota RAV4 that was heading north in the right lane.
The 47-year-old man driving the Toyota stopped to help the victim, according to police.
The woman was hospitalized with a fractured skull, internal bleeding and a broken femur.
She is currently in a coma and is listed in critical condition.
