An arrest warrant will be issued next week in connection to a Bridgeport homicide that took place two days before Christmas, Police Chief AJ Perez said Friday.
Khali Davis, 22, was shot to death inside Maple Mini Market on Kossuth Street in the city’s 23rd homicide of 2017.
Police say the shooting was a targeted attack.
“I'm glad that it's happened so fast, that, you know, it's not being swept under the rug, that it's not dragging out and that they're making quick progress in doing what they have to do to make sure that justice is served,” said Davis’ mother, Juanita.
Perez says he will submit the arrest warrant to State’s Attorney John Smirga on Tuesday.
News 12 is told that the identity of the suspect is not being revealed at this time.
Perez said he urges the state's attorney to sign the arrest warrant so Davis and her family can get the justice they deserve.
