A program in the Bronx is connecting children of parents battling cancer to others who are currently going through that painful experience.
The Bronx Oncology Living Daily, or BOLD, program at Montefiore-Einstein Center for Cancer Care has evolved over the last 10 years to help those touched by the disease.
Mentors Cassie and Jasleen both grew up with their mother's battling cancer, so they wanted to help other kids navigating through similar experiences.
Through the BOLD Brothers and Sisters program, they talk about sensitive topics with other kids affected by cancer, offering each other comfort and optimism.
The program hosts meet-ups twice a year to introduce mentors to possible those who many need help.
