The Department of Transportation says its improvements to select service on the Bx6 have significantly decreased travel delays in the area.
They credit the new service with transporting 24,000 riders daily in the Bronx to eight stops along subway station lines and 20 other bus routes.
Select service works when buses traveling in designated lanes created by the DOT pick up commuters who pay for their bus tickets off board instead of on the bus.
Officials say it speeds the bus riding process up significantly.
They say the select service was launched in 2016, and recent studies conclude the changes are working.
However, some riders say the machines where tickets are purchased for select service aren't always in service.
One man tells News 12 he is still late to work at least twice a week because of issues with buses and ticket machines.
Other commuters say they do enjoy the convenience of just getting onto the bus and going.
