Teen faces manslaughter charge in boy's shooting death

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP (AP) - A 17-year-old boy accused of shooting another juvenile at a southern New Jersey home has been charged with aggravated manslaughter.
Atlantic County prosecutors say the teen also faces weapons charges stemming from Friday night's shooting in Egg Harbor Township. He remained in custody Sunday at a youth detention facility, and his name has not been released.
Authorities say someone called police around 6:20 p.m. and said a child had fallen down the stairs at the home. But during the 911 call, another person got on the phone and said a shooting had occurred.
The victim was identified only as a 16-year-old boy. His death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy found he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
