MTA chairman to recuse himself from Belmont Park decisions

The chairman of the MTA says he will not be making decisions on plans to expand rail service at Belmont Park.
MTA Chair Joe Lhota will recuse himself from those decisions because of a potential conflict of interest, according to Newsday.
Lhota is also on the MSG Board, and the Madison Square Garden Company is involved in the building of the Islanders' new arena at Belmont.
Local leaders have reportedly questioned his ability to vote on issues involving the project.
