City Harvest provides healthy snacks for Bronx kids

City Harvest's Fruit Bowl program offers children healthy after-school snacks, organizers say.

One in three Bronx children don't know when or where their next meal will be, according to the nonprofit.

So it provides children with low-fat, low-dairy snacks like grapefruit or oranges at places like the Classic Community Center in Melrose.

Kids say the healthy snacks help them concentrate on their homework.
