A NYCHA tenant on Findlay Avenue says she has no heat or hot water, and she’s fed up with the lack of response from NYCHA management.

Judy Bocanegra has attempted to alleviate the issue by placing multiple space heaters around her two-bedroom apartment.

She has even resorted to leaving her stove open to generate heat – a dangerous practice that she says is the only way to keep warm during cold months.

Bocanegra says that other problems like broken windows and crumbling walls aren't as significant in comparison to the heat and hot water issues, and says she feels left behind by the system.

"I just feel like just leaving this apartment," says Bocanegra. "I'm asthmatic, I had a heart attack…you need to hurry up and fix it."

News 12 has reached out to NYCHA about these issues. A representative said they are looking into it.
