Jury selection begins for man accused of slaying pregnant daughter
Jury selection has begun in the case of a man accused of killing his pregnant daughter and hiding her body inside a Bronx basement.
William Caruth, 61, was charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of his 39-year-old daughter, Andrea Caruth, back in 2016.
Andrea was five months pregnant when prosecutors say William strangled her to death with a rope, then hid her body inside of a crawl space underneath pieces of wood inside their Corsa Avenue home.
Andrea was living inside of the basement of the home with her boyfriend Lincoln Grant. Investigators say she also operated a day care center out of the home that was shared with her father.
William and his daughter had allegedly fought over money shortly before she was killed.
