A female BronxWorks mentor has allegedly sent inappropriate texts and lewd photos to a 14-year-old student.

Julie Vargas said school officials from I.S. 339 contacted her Monday to inform her of the allegations against the 27-year-old woman.

She worked directly with students and has since been removed from the school, according to officials.

Vargas said her son told her he had been receiving similar messages over the past two months.

The Department of Education said the accused woman will not be allowed to work in its schools pending an investigation.

BronxWorks is also aware of the allegations, a spokesperson said.

"BronxWorks conducts extensive background clearances on all staff members, especially those who work with children," the spokesperson said. "Those background checks include fingerprint clearances."

Police confirmed there is an ongoing investigation by the Bronx Special Victim's Squad.
