Hundreds of students at P.S. 264 marched together in solidarity with a 10-year-old classmate who has been in and out of the hospital since infancy with a genetic disease.
Emily Mitchell has Fanconi anemia, or FA, which affects blood cell production.
The walk Friday helped raise more than $2,000 to fund FA research.
And Emily and her family have plans to run for charity upstate Saturday to raise more money for FA research.
