Business Briefs: Roku, Apple, HQ TriviaPosted: Updated:
Roku is rolling in revenue. The TV and streaming platform brought in $136 million in the last quarter. Mostly because of increased ad sales, says Cheddar. Roku has over 20 million users. Shares have increased by over 20 percent since going public last year.
Apple is rethinking its TV strategy. Apple will sell subscriptions through its TV app instead of requiring users to download and login to individual apps to make a purchase, according to Bloomberg. The goal is to make the process more user-friendly, and make Apple's TV app the go-to place for both purchasing and watching content.
"HQties" listen up! The live trivia game is introducing a new answer-sharing feature. HQ Trivia players will now be able to see which friends are playing, and how they respond to questions. The app will also let players connect with others playing nearby. The additional social feature is meant to give users a sense of togetherness.
