Investigators say there may be a link between the shooting deaths of two people found in separate apartments in the Bushwick Houses over the weekend.
Neighbors Ana Devalle, 62, and Basil Gray, 54, were found dead in their fifth-floor apartments on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
They both lived at 140 Moore St. in East Williamsburg, where police say Gray was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. They say they found Devalle with her hands tied and a gunshot wound to her head.
Police officials say given the similarities between the cases, they believe the two incidents are connected. They say they found shell casings from the same caliber firearm at both crime scenes.
Police have increased patrols in the area and placed a mobile command post outside the apartment building.
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. Investigators are offering a $2,500 reward for help with a conviction.
