Police have set up a mobile command center Tuesday outside the Bushwick Houses where a man and woman were fatally shot.
Neighbors Ana Devalle, 62, and Basil Gray, 54, were found shot to death in their fifth-floor apartments on Friday and Sunday.
Police officials say given the similarities between the cases, they believe the two incidents are connected.
They both lived at 140 Moore St. in East Williamsburg, where police say Gray was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found Devalle with her hands tied behind her back and a gunshot wound to her head.
Investigators also believe Gray may have either witnessed or tried to intervene when his neighbor was fatally shot, and the suspect or suspects may have come back to silence him
They say they found shell casings from the same caliber firearm at both crime scenes.
Police have increased patrols in the area and placed a mobile command post outside the apartment building.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
Officials are offering a $2,500 reward for help with a conviction.
