Merchants group holding seminar for business owners

The White Plains Road Merchants Association is hoping to inform business owners about new laws that could affect their livelihood.
Members of the group will be teaching owners of mom and pop shops about these new laws on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at their building on White Plains Road.
The seminar will focus on what rights business owners have if they are ever being forced out of their building.
Organizers of the event say a recent citywide law addressed harassment protection for non-residential building tenants. They say owners need to know their rights when it comes to harassment and what they can do when it comes to their leases.
The Merchants Association says with more than 500 local businesses in the area, they plan to have more seminars in the future.
