Wake held for teacher killed in I-80 school bus crash

A wake was held Tuesday for the teacher killed in a school bus crash on Interstate-80 last week.
Family, friends and co-workers of 51-year-old Jennifer Williamson-Kennedy gathered at Vander Plaat Memorial Home in Paramus to remember her life.
Williamson-Kennedy was a teacher in the district for 20 years. Loved ones say that she loved her job and grew up in the Paramus school system.
The wake will continue Wednesday, followed by a funeral Thursday at Our Lady of Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus at 10 a.m.
Williamson-Kennedy and 10-year-old student Miranda Vargas died May 17 when the school bus they were riding in collided with a dump truck. Over 40 other students and staff at East Brook Middle School were injured in the crash. The fifth-grade class was heading to Waterloo Village in Stanhope for a class field trip.
