A Long Island resident came close to winning the CBS reality show "Survivor" Wednesday evening.
Domenick Abbate,  from Nesconset, was tied with Wendell Holland for the $1 million prize during the finale.
It was the first time in the 36 seasons of the show that there was a tie.
Contestant Laurel Johnson was called to break the tie, and Philadelphia's Holland became the winner.
Holland got the $1 million, and a disappointed Abbate left for Long Island empty handed.
