CANARSIE -

A Canarsie man stands accused of setting a fire on 80th Street that trapped 16 people in their homes earlier this week.

Police say Sean Figaro, 37, lit the fire after moving out of the building due to a domestic dispute.

Surveillance video released by investigators shows him buying a gas fuel container before the fire. Later that night, police say he used a flammable liquid to light up the front of his former home.

Firefighters rescued all 16 people inside through the back of the building, and none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

Figaro faces charges that include attempted murder and arson.
