Officials: 2 killed in Flatbush apartment fire

Two people were killed Wednesday after a fire broke out inside of a Flatbush apartment, officials say.

The fire broke out inside the 6th floor of 529 E. 22nd Street around 2 a.m.

Officials say both a 59-year-old woman and her 36-year-old son were killed in the fire.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while her son later died at Kings County Hospital, officials say.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the deadly blaze.
