MTA launches discounted Atlantic Ticket program

Posted: Updated:
BROOKLYN -

The MTA launched a program Wednesday called Atlantic Ticket that offers a discounted fare for commuters traveling between select Long Island Rail Road stations in Brooklyn and Queens.

The weekly ticket is $60 and also includes a seven-day unlimited MetroCard. One-way tickets between any of the 10 included stations are $5.

Those stations are Jamaica, Hollis, Queens Village, Locust Manor, St. Albans, Laurelton, Rosedale, Atlantic Terminal, Nostrand Avenue and East New York.

The MTA says it will try the plan for six months to see if it is an attractive alternative for commuters.
