A funeral was held Thursday for a man found dead with stab wounds in his Midwood apartment Wednesday night.

Police say there appeared to be no signs of forced entry into 55-year-old Simon Bouhadana's Chestnut Avenue home.

Friends say he lived there for about a year after separating from his wife. They also say he gave lots of money to charity and was a loving person.

Funeral services for Bouhadana were held in Borough Park. His body would later be taken to an airport so he could have a proper burial in Israel.

News 12 spoke with a neighbor of Bouhadana's who said he saw the man going into his apartment Wednesday afternoon and that nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Police have not identified any suspects.
