Police: Victim tried to drive away after deadly shooting

A 22-year-old who was shot while sitting in his car in the Bronx struck multiple parked cars as he attempted to get away after the shooting, police say.  
The incident happened Tuesday at Baker Avenue and Garfield Street around 4 p.m.
Jose Velez, of the Bronx was found shot once in the chest while sitting inside of a parked car on Van-Nest Avenue and Union Port Road.
Police believe he attempted to drive away from the scene where he struck several parked cars on Baker Avenue and Garfield Street before coming to a stop.
Velez was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Police believe there was only one suspect involved in the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
