A Bridgeport man suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a car and a scooter.
A Toyota RAV4 hit 47-year-old Malik Rock at Kossuth and Maple streets Wednesday afternoon.
Police originally called in fatal crash investigators, but Rock is in stable condition.
Authorities say the driver recklessly disregarded a stop sign before slamming into Rock. They add that this isn't the first accident in the area and they hope this will encourage people to slow down.
"People are distracted, they're preoccupied with other things that they're going to do and unfortunately this person went right through that stop sign and almost killed this man," said Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez.
Police say the woman who struck the scooter was ticketed for being at fault.
