Body of young male found in water off Long Beach

A body has been recovered in the water off the coast of Long Beach, police say.
The body was recovered around 12:30 p.m. Sunday about 250 yards off of Lincoln Boulevard Beach, according to police. The body has not yet been identified, but police say it was that of a young African-American male.
The medical examiner is working to positively identify the body.
It comes amid search efforts in the area for a 10-year-old boy who has been missing since Tuesday. As News 12 has reported, Ramel McCrae went missing after he went to the beach with his brother without adult supervision.
Search efforts in that case have now been called off, police said Sunday. The boy's mother was notified by police of the discovery and she was expected to contact the medical examiner, according to officials.
