Woman sentenced in newborn daughter's death

A woman from Franklin Township has been sentenced to seven years in prison in the strangulation death of her newborn daughter.
According to NJ.com, Jade Fanz, 21, was originally charged with murder and other counts, but pleaded guilty earlier this year to second-degree reckless manslaughter.
Gloucester County prosecutors said following Friday's sentencing Fanz must serve 85 percent of her sentence before she will be eligible for parole.
Authorities say the crime came to light when she visited a hospital for treatment of an apparent medical complication related to the birth.
Fanz has been behind bars since the child's body was found Feb. 27 on the property of her family's Franklinville home.
