Crown Heights man fatally shot inside deli

A 28-year-old Crown Heights man was fatally shot in the head inside a deli Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. in the deli at the corner of Utica Avenue and Montgomery Street.

The victim was identified as Khadeem Anderson, a father to a young child. His mother, Angeleta Lewis, says he had just come from a barbecue when he went into the deli with his girlfriend. She says someone started arguing with him, but the situation turned deadly when he tried to end it.

Lewis is pleading for her son's killer to surrender to authorities.
