An 11th suspect has been arrested in the slaying of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz.
Danilo Payamps Pacheco, 21, of the Bronx, is charged with murder, manslaughter, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say he turned himself in at the 48th Precinct with an attorney.
Payamps Pacheco was denied bail and will return to court next Monday to announce if he will testify before a grand jury. His mother told News 12 that he was simply in the wrong place at the time.
Attorney Donald Vogelman says his client has no prior convictions and that his client surrendered as soon as he knew he was wanted. The district attorney's office argues that Payamps Pacheco was captured on video in a foot pursuit that led Guzman-Feliz to the bodega where he was ultimately attacked.
The latest arrest comes after 26-year-old Gabriel Ramirez-Concepcion and 29-year-old Diego Suero were charged with murder, manslaughter, gang assault and criminal possession on Tuesday.
The other suspects in custody include Jose Tavarez, 21; Manuel Rivera, 18; Danel Fernandez, 21; Antonio Hernandez Santiago, 24; Kevin Alvarez, 19; Jose Muniz, 21; and Elvin Garcia, 23. They are all suspected members of the Trinitarios street gang, investigators say.
As News 12 has reported, the incident's graphic violence circulated widely in surveillance video posted to social media. It shows the attackers dragging the 15-year-old Guzman-Feliz, also known as "Junior," along the ground as he claws helplessly at the brick wall of a bodega. The video shows multiple men stabbing and slicing the teen. Then Guzman-Feliz is shown stumbling, with blood gushing from his throat, before heading toward a nearby hospital. Police say he died outside.
