Bastille Day celebrated in Brooklyn

Posted: Updated:
BROOKLYN -

The Smith Street Province Festival celebrated Bastille Day on Sunday, the day that commemorates the storming of Bastille during the French Revolution in 1789.

The festival has been hosted by the French bistro Bartabac for the past 16 years, with vendors lining the street with French cuisine.

The Bastille Day celebration this year fell on the same day of the World Cup final between France and Croatia.

It was one of several Bastille Day celebrations held citywide.

France won 4-2 for its second-ever World Cup title.
