Three people in Stamford were rescued from Long Island Sound Saturday thanks to the quick thinking of a local lifeguard.
Morgan Carson was finishing his shift at the Woodway Beach Club when a canoe capsized off the shore.
Carson tells News 12 that he paddled out in a kayak and found three people in distress in the water.
Luckily, the three canoers were wearing life jackets – something that Carson says definitely contributed to saving their lives. He said the canoers held onto his kayak and their canoe as he towed them to safety.
"I feel like I got a chance to do my job, saving a life,” said Carson. “You don't actually get to do it a lot, but it’s all about that one moment that really counts.”
