Police: Shoplifter punched, kicked employee after being confronted

A shoplifter in the Bronx punched and kicked an employee who confronted him for allegedly stealing two cans of iced tea, police say.
The incident happened Monday at the Grab and Go Deli on Eastchester Road around 2:05 p.m.
The man allegedly grabbed two cans of iced tea before leaving the store without paying.
However, police say when a store employee chased after to confront him, the man began to kick and punch him.
The employee was treated at the scene by EMS for pain and bruising to his face and body.
Police have released surveillance video of the suspect.
