Worker rescued from trench in Bound Brook

A worker was rescued from a trench that partially collapsed in Bound Brook Thursday.
Officials say that the man was working in a pipeline trench on Vosseller Avenue just after 10 a.m. when it caved in.
“His foot went in underneath the foil of the dirt. It pinned him with his leg bent back. We had to stabilize the trench area with air shore jacks,” said Bound Brook Rescue Squad Capt. Rich Dietrich.
The rescue effort took about 45 minutes. The worker was released and taken to the hospital.
There wasn’t any immediate word on his condition.
