Children attend summer cooking camp in Brooklyn

Posted: Updated:
CANARSIE -

Children in Brooklyn learned cooking styles and techniques of the culinary world during a cooking summer camp.

The 'Stylish Chef Children's Summer Cooking Course’ is hosted by Chef Garth Cheese at the Canarsie Children First Academy.

Cheese is a Brooklyn native who graduated from the Art Institute of New York. His brand "The Stylish Chef" has become a part of the Brooklyn culinary scene.

Cheese says he combines his love of food, fashion and fitness into his six-week summer camp program.

For three days a week, children learn how to create meals from scratch, build restaurant etiquette and practice kitchen safety.

Cheese says he wanted to give back to the community.

The program is for children ages eight to 14 years old.
