Police seek hit-and-run driver who critically injured woman

MIDWOOD -

Police are looking for the driver responsible for leaving a woman in critical condition after she was struck in Midwood overnight. 

Police say the 57-year-old woman was struck by a blue Sedan driving eastbound on Avenue P.

The driver didn’t stop, according to police. 

EMS rushed the woman to Maimonides Medical Center, where she remained in critical condition Saturday morning.

Residents say they're saddened but not shocked by the news of the accident, calling the area a dangerous intersection. 

Police say there are no arrests at this time and the incident is still being investigated.
