BUSHWICK -

Police officers, local organizations and other community members are uniting at Heckscher playground in Bushwick Saturday to play handball and soccer.

This is the third year in a row Tent Ministries partnered with the NYPD and local organizations for a handball and soccer tournament in an effort to unite the community.

This is the first year women are competing in the tournament.

About 300 people are participating.

The organizer tells News 12 that no matter race, gender, or beliefs, this is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to get outside on a hot summer day and have fun.
